We can’t believe that it’s already been four years since we wrote our first blog on ERPSoftwareBlog. As we start 2014, we’ve decided to look back at our top five blog articles based on views and see how things have changed (or have stayed the same!) since they were originally published.
#5: Bridging the Gap Between Project Management and Accounting (read the original blog article published on June 17th, 2011)
This article addressed a recurring problem that we find in many businesses: the lack of collaboration between project managers and the accounting department. This is a timeless issue since these two different departments will always have different needs. Recently, we have noticed that organizations are starting to ask more often for a solution that ensures that everyone work from the same information and to automate processes as often as possible.
As the Dynamics tools continue to evolve, we not only see more requests to facilitate the exchange between project managers and the accounting department, but also an increase to create this link between sales and operations teams. This has led to many more implementations where the solution was a mix between a CRM, project management and an accounting system.
I don’t see this trend going anywhere anytime soon. In fact, I think the opposite: more and more, we will choose new systems and push our current ones to integrate together. By doing so, companies will be able to push their analysis even further and review their entire process from purchases to profits within a single system. They will be able to gain the insight we need to learn more about ourselves and our customers.
