New Microsoft Dynamics 365 Features Available Now

The second 2019 feature release wave for Microsoft Dynamics 365 is now available in early access! General availability for these features is planned for October, but organizations can already try them out and activate them within their environment.

JOVACO has already installed these new functionalities and is currently in the process of analyzing them so that we are familiar with them before general availability. This will allow us to provide better support for the solution and more specific recommendations to our clients.

Some organizations have been contacted directly by Microsoft to test these new features. By activating them, users will benefit from improvements to existing user experiences. Indeed, this update primarily consists in improvements brought to integrations, workflows and module usability to make the system more user-friendly.

Among these new features, we believe that our clients will especially appreciate the simplified lead management experience: when qualifying a lead, users will be able to create a corresponding account and contact as well as an opportunity. This feature will give more control to users as this was previously done automatically. It will also be possible to customize the “Opportunity Close” dialogue box by adding fields, mandatory or otherwise, which will facilitate data entry before closing an opportunity.

But this is only two features among many, and all the following modules will be improved thanks to this release wave:

  • Microsoft PowerApps
  • Microsoft Flow
  • Microsoft Power BI
  • Dynamics 365 for Marketing
  • Dynamics 365 for Sales
  • Dynamics 365 for Customer Service
  • Dynamics 365 for Field Service
  • Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations
  • Dynamics 365 for Retail

These changes will be activated by default for all users starting in October 2019. As several of these features affect only the new unified interface, organizations still using the “classical” interface will not be affected much by this release wave.

Organizations that have a test (or sandbox) environment can also try the new functionalities in this environment if preferred. It will be possible to export solutions from the test environment to other environments (the production environment, for example), as this early access does not affect the Dynamics 365 version build.
