The Importance of Cloud Business Management Solutions in 2021

2021 is already coming up after a year full of changes and challenges! Numerous organizations have had to accelerate the digital transformation of their business this year, namely by acquiring cloud-based tools and solutions. But how did all these changes impact ERP solution trends this year?

The need to support remote work has increased the demand for cloud-based tools, and the way businesses work has changed since the beginning of the year. Several ERP systems currently in use have existed for a long time, which means that organizations have solutions that are now obsolete. These versions have helped their businesses evolve, but it is now time for them to modernize. For these reasons, more organizations than ever are now considering migrating their on-premises ERP system to the cloud.

The cloud as a portal towards modernization

One of the main benefits of the cloud is that it offers a flexible platform and modern tools, available from a user-friendly interface. This year, many organizations have started transitioning their business management system to the cloud. This allows them to benefit from automated updates and highly secure data. Cloud solutions are also often more affordable as there is no infrastructure to manage and licenses are available per module.

Best of both worlds

On-premises ERP solutions benefit from many years of development. As such, they offer a large range of features and functionalities. Managing your own infrastructure and hardware, while costly, also offers more control and more advanced customization possibilities in comparison to the cloud.

This is why many businesses opt for a hybrid ERP solution. This means they can benefit from the functionality of an on-premises platform while leveraging the accessibility and modern interface offered by cloud technologies. This scenario is often seen in the professional services industry, where it allows firms to benefit from best-of-breed solutions without having to compromise.
