Microsoft Releases a New Roadmap for Microsoft Dynamics GP

July 20, 2021

A new roadmap was just published for Microsoft Dynamics GP, renewing Microsoft’s long-term commitment to Dynamics GP. This roadmap extends to 2028 and beyond, guaranteeing new features and regular updates for the next several years.

As a long-term Dynamics GP partner, we’re very happy to see Microsoft’s continued commitment to this proven ERP solution, and we’re looking forward to seeing the product’s evolution. As Microsoft strives to take user feedback into account, new features and improvements are constantly being added based on user requests and feedback. And since Dynamics GP is a mature product, it benefits from a large ecosystem of third-party products. This means you can integrate solutions and applications to meet specific needs or tailor the solution to your industry.

With the end of support for Microsoft Dynamics GP 2016 and 2016 R2, Dynamics GP is now completely supported by Microsoft’s modern lifecycle policy. This means continuous support and updates that are easy to manage. These new updates are usually launched in June, October, and December every year, with new features released in October, while the other two releases provide hotfixes, tax updates, and others.

Several of our clients are asking whether they should stay with Dynamics GP or migrate to Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central. While there are good reasons to move to the cloud with Business Central, here’s proof that Dynamics GP remains an excellent option in the long term. If your Dynamics GP system still meets your needs, then there is no reason for you to migrate to a new solution.
