New Project Management Features for OMZY
It’s been just over a year since the launch of OMZY, our project management module integrated with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central! Since then, our team has been working tirelessly to develop new features that meet the needs of professional services firms by combining operations and finances. Read on for an overview of the latest updates now available with the most recent version of OMZY!
Homepage enhancements
The homepage has been improved to make sure users have the data they need at their fingertips. For example, approvers can now view and access time and expense report using tiles. Project managers, on the other hand, can track and monitor the health of their projects using a chart displaying key indicators such as:
- Cost advancement
- Revenue advancement
- Billing advancement
- Budget margin
- Project profitability
Advanced billing
The advanced billing feature is now available with OMZY version 1.3! This feature provides much more flexibility when generating invoices. Indeed, it lets you rearrange project tasks on an invoice to display them differently from the project structure. It also enables you to group tasks from different projects into a single invoice.
Planning feature
The planning feature introduces several new elements. For example, planning lines let you manage the effort required to complete a task and distribute this effort across different intervals. The project Gantt chart lets you view planning lines and move intervals to adjust the schedule quickly and easily. You can also manage the project team using a list of roles that can be assigned to resources to manage capacity.
Resource utilization
OMZY also now provides various tools to manage resource utilization, including the resource utilization page and capacity models. These can be defined based on Business Central calendars and hour templates, and then assigned to resources or project roles to manage resource capacity. A list of exceptions can also be added to the resource to account for leaves and other exceptions for the resource in question.
Custom dimensions
OMZY now supports custom dimensions, just like in the standard version of Business Central. To this end, you simply need to link the dimensions defined in Business Central’s standard and the corresponding dimension in the company from the data mapping page. Then, you can create reports to analyze data based on this dimension.
